I couldn't have asked for a better experience during my time at Volvo. My internship there was truly exceptional, and I felt like a valued member of the company, where my ideas and opinions were always taken into account. I spent the first couple weeks familiarizing myself with my team and their areas of expertise. I was fortunate to be assigned to some exciting projects that allowed me to learn cutting-edge skills such as MongoDB, Ansible, Docker, as well as various Python and JavaScript libraries and frameworks. Throughout my internship, I always had a mentor available to assist me whenever I needed help understanding. I knew I always had someone to help me out, that is truly a peace of mind.
Now, let me provide you with an overview of the OMS application I developed during my internship. The other projects are confidential. At the Volvo NRV Plant, the Infrastructure System Automation team faced a high volume of IoT repair orders on a daily basis, and their traditional method of tracking these orders involved manual note-taking on a board. My project aimed to streamline and expedite this process. The OMS system I designed featured a "Drop-off" button, which allowed customers to effortlessly submit a work order by simply commenting on what needed to be repaired. The comment section included a selection of common issues for users to choose from. Furthermore, users had the option to scan their Employee ID and Item ID, which automatically populated other fields such as date, time, and technician information. The OMS system reduced the time required to process a work order was reduced from 2 minutes to less than 30 seconds.
